A football freestyler wowed crowds with his juggling skills as an estimated 2,500 people enjoyed an Eid fun day in Hounslow.

Colin Nell, who has performed stunts on TV adverts, entertained revellers at Hounslow Mosque on Sunday (August 3).

Families also had a scream on funfair rides at the mosque in Wellington Road South, Hounslow, and browsed a pop-up grand bazaar, with more than 50 stalls.

Henna and face-painting, karate and ju-jitsu demonstrations, poetry recitals by local schoolchildren and music from Al Qibla were also among the line-up.

The festival, organised by Faisal Salim and Yasser Qadri, and now in its fourth year , raised about £7,500 for the Lady Nafisa Independent Secondary School for Girls, in nearby Cross Lances Road.

Mr Qadri said: "Colin was a massive hit, especially with the children, who he got involved. We had lots of people coming in off the street, which was nice."

The festival at Hounslow Jamia Masjid & Islamic Centre , which is better known as Hounslow Mosque, was held to celebrate Eid al-Fitr, marking the end of the month-long fast by Muslims for Ramadan.
