A FIVE-year-old football fan has become the face of his favourite club’s youth membership scheme.
Dante Douce, of The Mall, Kenton, won a competition to feature in much of the marketing material over the next year for north London outfit Arsenal FC’s Junior Gunners, which offers specially discounted tickets to young fans and the chance to meet members of the team.
The Preston Park Primary School pupil, who plays for AFC Wembley’s youth team, said: “I think Arsenal are the best team in the world and I want to train so I can be like Theo Walcott and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain one day.
“I sleep on Arsenal bed sheets and in Arsenal pyjamas.
“When I train it’s in my Arsenal kit so I feel like I’m playing for them.
“One day I’m going to score a goal at the Emirates Stadium against Manchester United or Tottenham Hotspur.”
He was invited to Arsenal’s Emirates Stadium in Drayton Park, north London, for a photoshoot, which took place in the players’ lounge.
The five-year-old was also given tickets for Arsenal’s Premier League match with Norwich City in April, where he enjoyed special behind the scenes access and got to watch the teams arrive.
