Wembley Stadium will play host to the Euro 2020 final and semi finals, UEFA have confirmed.

The footballing body are looking to move away from one country hosting a single competition, and west London is to take centre stage when the European football finals kick off in six years time.

Councillor Muhammed Butt, Labour leader of Brent Council said: “UEFA had the pick of Europe to choose from so the fact that they have chosen Wembley to host the semi-finals and final in 2020, right here in the London Borough of Brent, is a huge honour and is great news for football fans across the country.

“Brent is incredibly proud to be the home of the national stadium, the home of football, and we look forward to having the eyes of an entire continent fall upon our diverse borough as another chapter in Wembley’s glorious history is written.”
