A number of shops in the Uxbridge Road and 29 shops in the Ealing Broadway Shopping Centre are closed due to flooding inside.

Shops have lost thousands of pounds worth of stock due to a burst water pipe over the weekend as  ex-Hurricane Bertha passed near Britain.

Whittard's tea shop manager Artur Asatrian said: "The whole shopping centre was closed yesterday and when I came in this morning I found my stock room was like a lake.

"We sell tea and coffee which because of the damp has been completely destroyed.

"We also sell ceramics which will have to be binned because we can't wash them and then sell them.

"We have lost at least £8,000 worth of stock."
