Five people escaped from a fire in a terraced house in the early hours of this morning (September 2).

London Fire Brigade (LFB) were called to Beaconsfield Road in Southall at about 3.35 and the flames were under control by about 4.20am.

Two women and three men escaped before the Brigade arrived, suffered from smoke inhalation and were treated by the London Ambulance Service.

All five were taken to hospital.

A spokesman from LFB said: "Part of the ground floor was quite badly damaged by the fire.

"Two fire engines from Southall and 10 firefighters were sent and the cause is under investigation."
