More than 20 firefighters were called to Northolt this morning as a blaze gutted a house in Hardcastle Close.

Four fire engines were called to the scene at about 1.34am and fought to stop the blaze spreading to neighbouring terraced houses.

A spokesman for the fire service said the fire was brought under control by 4am but flames consumed the ground floor and first floor as well as half the roof.

No-one was believed to be injured and the cause of the blaze is currently under investigation.
