HUNDREDS of people were evacuated from the Chimes Shopping centre this morning after a fire broke out.
The fire took place in Nando's restaurant in Uxbridge High Street just after 10am.
Police sealed off the surrounding shops while fire crews made the area safe.
Workers gathered outside the Civic Centre, Uxbridge, in the cold for an hour before the shopping centre was reopened shortly after 11am.
Two fire engines from Hillingdon Fire Station attended and the cause is under investigation.
No damage was caused to the exterior of the restaurant, and whether there is any possible internal damage is as yet unknown.
