A SHOP in Southall has been slapped with a fine after repeatedly dumping rubbish illegally.

Khalsa Super Store in South Road, Southall, was investigated by Ealing Council after it left waste on the pavement outside the shop on seven separate occasions during the summer. The incidents were caught on CCTV.

The case was heard at Ealing Magistrates Court on Friday, November 11. Because the defendant did not attend, the case was proved in absence.

The business owners were fined £700 for the offences and ordered to pay £1,007 costs with a victim surcharge of £15, adding up to a total of £1,722.21.

Councillor Bassam Mahfouz, transport and environment leader at Ealing said: “Yet another good result from the Envirocrime and legal teams. We are committed to keeping our borough as clean as possible and this sort of behaviour will not be tolerated.

“Fly-tipping can be reported 24-hours day, 7-days a week using our Grimebusters hotline. Just pick up the phone and dial 020 8825 8825. Council staff will continue to investigate and take action against anyone who breaks the law.”
