AN IT worker who moonlights as a film director is hoping his latest movie will earn a place at an international film festival.

James Webber, of Oak Lane in Isleworth, is also a scriptwriter.

He has just finished shooting his third short film, Dancer, with the help of young actors.

James, who turns 30 this weekend and who has wanted to create films since he was 15, said: "We are hoping it will get accepted to the Canada International Film Festival.

"For everyone that worked on it, this is our calling card."

The online support worker has also produced more than 20 music videos for 'underground' artists, between producing movies for his company, Fingercuff Productions.

James, who studied film at Bournemouth Arts Institute, said: "Unfortunately, you can't make much money from short films.

"I'm writing a feature film at the moment and am going to start looking for funding next year."

Dancer, which was filmed around Isleworth and Kingston, including Redlees Park, is about a young man who commits a hit-and-run crime and tries to hide what he has done.

James added: "It is a tale of redemption, of good people doing bad things, and ultimately the price they have to pay."
