I SEE (Chronicle, January 22) that Nick Westbrook, of HAP, has taken it on himself to answer my criticisms of Hounslow LINk, published in the previous week's Chronicle.
Nick claims to be much misunderstood (not only by me but also by several others). Considering the inconsistent and nonsensical nature of many of his utterances, I am not too surprised that he is misunderstood.
I am told that around 60 members of the public attended the first meeting (last autumn). I am also told that over 120 of these signed up to join LINks. In last week's Chronicle this claim is reduced to 'almost 100' and, apparently, 12 of these were sufficiently motivated to attend the second meeting, although one left early on in the proceedings.
Amazingly, these conflicting figures, seem to come from the same Nick Westbrook.
More to the point, I have not seen a shred of evidence to make me retract my main point, which was that the LINks have accomplished nothing.
