On Saturday you can explore the secret walled garden in Cranford Countryside Park for the last time until spring with the Cranford Park Friends. Mulled wine, mince pies, tea, cakes and coffee will be available for a small donation to Macmillan Cancer Support. From 11.30am-2.30pm, make a wish at the 400-year-old wishing well, which has been specially lit and decorated, and youngsters can enjoy a hook-a-duck game.

Halo Children’s Foundation, set up recently by Hayes mum Alia Jones, provides information, resources and comfort to children and families coping with bereavement. The foundation is holding a Christmas Fair on Saturday at Uxbridge College Children's Centre to raise funds and awareness of the help available in the borough to children and their families when dealing with death. From 11am-3pm enjoy cakes, toys, a raffle, a chocolate and a toy tombola, guess the sweets in a jar, Christmas gift ideas, a lucky dip, hair braiding and guess the weight of the cake contest. There will be mince pies, mulled wine, and an appearance from Father Christmas too.

On Sunday , Harlington Locomotive Society opens to the public for the last time this year for the traditional annual Mince Pie Run. Set in an orchard in the middle of Harlington village, the Society has been giving train rides on its miniature railway for more than 60 years. At 11am, Father Christmas will arrive by train to meet young visitors, and there will be hot mince pies on sale along with the usual light refreshments from the tea bar.

Duck Pond Market returns for its fifth anniversary market on both Saturday and Sunday this weekend. The Christmas market is the biggest of the year running over two days from 10am-3pm at Manor Farm in Ruislip. Stock up on Christmas gifts from 120 local stall holders, enjoy mulled wine, hot chocolate, spiced apple juice and Christmas choirs, kids can get their faces painted (and adults too) and meet the animals at the petting farm - as well as Father Christmas - and you can get your newly bought presents wrapped for charity.
