A little runner who made it round the kids' Great North Run in 13 minutes is now limbering up for the New York City Marathon.
Determined three-year-old James-Tobias Norrington, from Feltham, loves joining other kids for the one-mile mini events that accompany each marathon.
"We never push him, he clearly loves it," said James' mum Kelli Dixon-Norrington. "James is a very lucky boy who is fit and healthy and is able to raise money for other children."
James took part in the mini Great North Run on Saturday in Newcastle, and completed his one-mile run in 13 minutes and 25 seconds - one minute and 35 seconds faster than last year.
The speedy tot is now training for the mini Great South Run in two weeks time and will then participate in the International Friendship Run on November 1, in New York, as part of the NYC marathon weekend, raising money for the charity Get Kids Going, which supplies wheelchairs for children.
He already has three medals and his sporting prowess is clearly a family affair as he regularly heads down for a quick jog at the park with his mum and grandmother, BA duty manager Jacki Dixon.
He also joins Mrs Dixon-Norrington down at her dance studio in Sunbury six times a week for lessons in tap, modern and ballet.
