The father of a Hayes teenager murdered in an Ealing park has spoken of the devastating impact it has had on his family.

In an impact statement Ahmed Buraleh said the murder of his 19-year-old son, Fuad, in an Ealing park on January 26 this year has left his family heartbroken.

He said: "Fuad had a promising and happy life in front of him.

"We are a Muslim family from Somalia. Each day since Fuad's death I have been contacting my family all over the world to update them about the progress.

"We have escaped from the war-torn land of Somalia. We came to the UK to seek a civilised society - instead we find ourselves among people who seek out victims to attack.'

Referring to the spitting incident on a bus before he was murdered, he said: "I am not proud of my son for doing this or his behaviour overall on the bus that night.

"By son deserved to be corrected but to call upon people and him to be set upon causing injuries can only be called barbaric.

"Fuad's death has left a great void in all our lives."
