A FAMILY'S home and cars have been attacked three times by thugs wielding baseball bats and golf clubs.

Frightened neighbours say they are losing sleep worrying they may be targeted as well.

The residents of Wood End Gardens, Northolt, say they are up in arms over the attacks.

One, who asked not to be named, added: "I'm petrified. The first visit was about 2am. They smashed up a car in front of the house, the sound of the glass breaking was so loud I thought it was a bomb going off. Then they jumped in their getaway car and sped off.

"They came back and did the same to the glass in the porch windows of the house and a car in the drive about midnight a few nights later. And last Tuesday they came in the early hours and smashed the front windows of the house and two other cars.

"The police say it's some vendetta and it's only them being attacked, but what if they get the wrong house next time or it's a bomb or something? I'm not a weak person but this has really shaken me up."

Another neighbour said: "It's like Beirut, there was glass all over the floor and kids had to walk through it and see it all on their way to the two primary schools nearby."

Dave Dwyer, chairman of the Wood End Residents' Association, who also lives in the road, said: "Everyone in the area is worried, jumping and looking out the window at the slightest noise."

The family involved declined to comment other than to say that they do not know why they are being targeted.

The first two attacks took place on April 4 and 9, according to neighbours. Police say they have stepped up patrols in the area.
