Have you dreamed of having your name in lights? Thought about seeing your face splashed across the newsstand? Wished that you could perform in front of a huge, screaming crowd?

This year The Centre, Feltham, could bring you a step closer to realising your dreams as it presents the Chronicle-backed Fame Academy 2008.

Under the scheme, young people aged between 12 and 18 will learn new skills at fantastic FREE performing arts workshops before taking to the stage in The Grand Finale on Saturday, August 30, alongsideSTRIKE (pictured), from Britain's Got Talent, and Feltham's very ownRichard Mitchell, winner of Feltham Idol 2007.

If you want to sing like Lemar, dance like George Sampson or perform in the West End like Connie Fisher, then Feltham Fame Academy is most definitely for you.

The amazing workshops that you can take part in are:
- Drama workshop on Wednesday, August 20 - a must for all budding drama queens!
- Dance workshop on Friday, August 22 - from jazz to break dancing this high energy dance workshop has it all.
- Stage Combat workshop on Tuesday, August 26 - if you enjoyed Strike from Britain‹s Got Talent then you'll love this.
- Singing workshop on Wednesday, August 27
- Musical Theatre workshop on Thursday, August 28 - Learn to sing, act and perform all in one with this excellent musical theatre workshop.

Workshops will run between 10am and 4pm in the Feltham Library community rooms, located at The Centre, Feltham, and the Chronicle will follow participants' progress in coming weeks both in the paper and online.
