EXCITEMENT is building in Harrow as local people prepare for some very special visitors.

The Queen and Prince Philip are coming to town today for the first time in almost eight years.

It is the first day of the London diamond jubilee tour and they are visiting Krishna-Avanti Primary School, with a packed schedule of things to see and do during their visit.

The Harrow Observer is following every step of the day through a live blog , and reporters Ian Proctor and Hannah Bewley are at the scene to speak to people coming to watch.

A screen will be set up outside the school so people can watch the action.

Although the Queen is not arriving until approximately 2.45pm, lots of Observer readers have headed to the live blog to share their thoughts.

'amina' said she is 'so proud' that the Queen is coming to Harrow, and 'Claire' said: 'Ladies from my choir will be entertaining HM. They are VERY excited.''

'Seema's' daughter will be singing for the Queen as part of a choir. She said: 'She is SO excited and I am chuffed for her. It'll be a very memorable event for a 10 year old. I just hope I can get a good spot and get some pics.'

The Harrow Observer wants to hear from you about the royal visit.
