LAST year's exam results show an improvement in GCSE and A-level performance at schools across Hillingdon.

The figures, released by the Department for Children, Schools, and Families last week, are an improvement on 2007's figures which saw a drop-off in achievement from the previous year.

A-level results, scored on average points per student, rose from 679.4 to 688.2, while the percentage of students achieving five or more A* to C grades, including English and Maths, jumped from 44.9 per cent to 46.4 per cent.
