Footballing heroes of years gone by took to the pitch at White Lion Ground this weekend to raise money for joint Edgware manager Del Deanus.
The ex-England schoolboy international, who was also on the books at Tottenham Hotspur, was diagnosed with Motor Neurone Disease earlier this year and it is believed more than £15,000 was raised for his care.
Former England international's Les Ferdinand and Paul Merson were part of a celebrity team that lost to a non-league all star team 6-4 at the Edgware ground in High Street, Edgware, on Saturday.
Junior Lewis, chairman of the organising committee, said: "We are absolutely delighted with how it went and it was great that all the stars turned up. The most important thing is that Del seemed to really enjoy the day."
As part of the fundraising, football memorabilia was auctioned to the 2,000 people that attended the game.
Among the best selling items were a fully-signed Tottenham shirt from this year's Carling Cup Final and a signed Joe Cole England shirt from Fabio Capello's first game in charge of the national side. Both went for about £350 each.
