Ex- Chelsea footballer Frank Lampard has been included in the Queen's Birthday Honours list.

The 36-year-old, from Chelsea, was appointed OBE for services to football.

The midfielder is the all-time leading goalscorer for the Blues, where he played for 13 years, before joining New York City FC on a two-year deal and being loaned to Manchester City.

Lampard - whose uncle is former QPR boss Harry Redknapp and cousin is Jamie Redknapp - began his career at West Ham United.

He has 106 England caps, since his debut in 1999, and has scored 29 international goals.

He was voted England player of the year in 2004 and 2005.

This year, he started as a team captain on ITV sport show Play to the Whistle.

The father-of-two is engaged to TV presenter Christine Bleakley.
