A tale of love, jealousy and betrayal inspired by the ancient Indian epic Ramayana will light up Bell Square in Hounslow this weekend for Diwali.

Theatre group Walk the Plank will combine shadow puppetry and Bharatanatyam dance to bring the age-old story to life on the open-air stage at Bell Corner this Saturday (October 25).

The evening will begin at 6pm with a procession from ASDA to the square by youngsters from Oaklands School and The Green School in Isleworth, carrying homemade lanterns.

The free performance of Spellbound, which is suitable for those of all ages, will begin at 6.30pm.

The show is one of a number of events taking place across west London to celebrate Diwali, the Indian festival of lights.

The celebrations began on Sunday with a Diwali Mela in Inwood Park, Hounslow, including Bollywood and Bhangra dancing.
