Elvis has left the building, but only after raising more than £300 to fight cancer with an exclusive performance at a Hounslow charity shop.

One of the King of Rock 'n' Roll's leading impersonators Paul Richie serenaded visitors to the Cancer Research UK shop in Hounslow High Street on Saturday (October 18).

He was there to help plug the shop's huge collection of Elvis Presley memorabilia donated by a mystery benefactor.

A spokeswoman for the shop said the elderly lady had turned up at the shop with several trolley-loads of Elvis goods she had compiled over her lifetime, including records, books and many items from his US home Graceland.

Volunteers at the shop collected £320 during the day, on top of the £610 they had raised during an afternoon of song and dance at the Treaty Centre the previous weekend.

The store still has a sizeable collection of Elvis memorabilia to shift, including a box set of all the hip-shaking crooner's 18 UK no 1s on 10 inch vinyl.

Elvis' visit was part of Stand Up To Cancer, a national fundraising campaign for which Cancer Research UK has teamed up with Channel 4.
