We're testing a new site: This chart is coming soon

As Prime Minister David Cameron and Labour leader Ed Milliband go head-to-head in a live debate on Thursday evening (March 26).

Cameron & Miliband: The Battle for Number 10 kicks off on Channel 4 and Sky News at 9pm.

The PM and his opponent will both be quizzed by BBC Newsnight's Jeremy Paxman.

Ahead of the election debate, and in the run-up to May's General Election, we've put together an interactive poll-of-polls gadget to help you keep up-to-date with how each party is doing.

Drawing accurate conclusions from opinion polls in election time is a minefield.

Dozens of polls are released every month, by different media, and they often express directly contradictory findings. But using our gadget, you can get the best possible picture.

The tool draws on every opinion poll published by each of the main polling companies over the last 100 days.

It uses a rolling average of all polls, rating each party on its average poll performance over the previous five days.

That gives a more balanced overview and helps iron out the statistical limitations of any individual poll.

We are checking the output of all polling companies and mainstream media every day, as well as monitoring aggregating sites ukpollingreport to make sure we don't miss a single survey.

Our gadget is updated daily - meaning you'll always be right up to date.
