THE Borough Commander of Ealing Police has praised officers and partner organisations as he enters his final days in the post.

Sultan Taylor will be leaving on Friday to join the National Policing Improvement Agency at Bramshill but a date has not been given for a new Borough Commander to replace him.

He said: "I would like to thank the residents for their unstinting support through my command at Ealing which I have thoroughly enjoyed. I would like to place on record my sincere thanks firstly to my staff who have worked hard under pressure, shown true courage and bravery on a daily basis.

"I am proud and privileged to have led such a workforce. I would also like say how impressed I have been with the support given by the community, businesses, the voluntary sector and our partners, especially the local authority who have made significant commitments in funding extra Police Community Support Offices and other partnership posts."

Mr Taylor said a new Borough Commander would be appointed shortly and expressed confidence that Ealing would retain its "excellent reputation".
