A TEENAGER struck the right notes for the second time running and won a piano festival competition.

Melanie Webb, 15, performed against a dozen other entrants at the bi-annual Jaques Samuel Piano festival held in Edgware Road.

The St. Augustine School pupil who has been learning the piano for eight years said she was delighted with her achievement.

She said: “I performed three classical pieces including Sherzo, La Chevaleresque and a Burlesque piece for the judges.

“I was really pleased in winning the trophy and quite surprised.

“I hope to be a performer in the future.”

Melanie has attended the Jeanne Broda piano school for three years and is currently on grade five of her music exams.
