LIZ Pilgrim, owner of baby-e boutique in Ealing Green, has chosen a number of local crafters to showcase their products in her store in the eight weeks leading up to Christmas.

The mother-of-two, a finalist at this year’s Mumpreneur Awards, has dedicated several shelves at the back of her maternity and children’s clothes shop for the project which started on November 1.

Crafters are able to rent shelf space to sell a range of their gifts and home accessories without the burden of heavy overheads.

Liz is keen to support budding ‘mumpreneurs’ and talent in Ealing with an emphasis on handmade products.

“With rent and rates so high, it’s so difficult for small businesses to create a retail presence,” she said. “I think this a low-cost highly effective way for me to promote small businesses. I am passionate about my local community and really want
to show a different way of looking at the high street. This might play a small part in formulating plans for Ealing’s future.”

Products will be available from Conker Crafts by Rosanna Hendersen, Lovely and Lovely by Camilla and Emily Fraser and eponymous label Jane West Jewellery.

Catherine Concagh of Kumari Glass will sell her range of stained andfused glass gifts and jewellery.

The Ealing Common mother-of-two said: “It just seems like a clever idea formed while we were chatting. It’s hugely beneficial for both of us. You spend all your time making the products but finding an outlet is the hardest thing. It’s a great chance for our products to get seen.”
