Bank workers visited an Ealing primary school this week - but rumours they were looking for new managers were unconfirmed.

Youngsters from Mount Carmel got a fun lesson in maths as HSBC staff talked to them about finance.

Year six children were interviewed for roles in customer services, bank management, floor walking and cashiers and on Friday February 27, the school bank project was launched.

Administration assistant Jane Masella said: "It has been a real life learning experience for them.

"The idea was to teach year six about the banking profession and to offer the rest of the Junior school a chance to save with a bank of their very own."

HSBC PR manager Sue MacMillen, a PR Manager for HSBC said: "The children were taught about financial literacy and were being taught a lesson in banking which was fun and they learnt an awful lot."
