A RETIRED BT worker has revealed he is fathering a baby boy - at the age of 75.

Paul-Louis Mariasusay and his wife Gena, 38, had a healthy baby boy called Xavier.

Mr Mariasusay, who has two daughters from his previous marriage and five grandchildren, said he never expected to get married in his 70s, let alone have a baby.

The Malaysian-born grandfather said: "Sometimes I think 'what the hell am I doing? - I'm 75' but I still feel like I'm 30.

"I know I'm older and when I push Xavier in his pram, people come up to me and ask what relation he is to me, I joke and say he is my grandson.

"I don't want people to say I'm a dirty old man and want to walk with my head held up high.

"I will do everything I can to be a good dad - educate and provide for him and my wife.

"I just want to spend as much time as possible with my son and don't want to think about the future - everything is perfect so far."

He does say his children and family were not happy with his marriage or news of the little arrival but have come to terms with his unusual circumstance.

His wife is the same age as one of his daughters and his baby is younger than all five of his grandchildren.

The couple, who live in Acton, first met in Malaysia and married in February last year and Xavier was born a healthy 7.11lb at Queen Charlotte's Hospital in September.
