The proportion of businesses started since the recession in Ealing and Hounslow are some of the highest in the UK.

69 per cent of the 21,845 businesses in Ealing and the same percentage of the 19,129 businesses in Hounslow started on or after September 1, 2008, according to data from Companies House - the UK's official registrar of companies.

These are two of the highest proportions for any area of the country, compared to the 59 per cent of businesses that have started since the recession throughout the whole of the UK.

One in five of Hounslow's post recession businesses work in information and communication,nearly double the national average of 11 per cent.

This was also the most popular sector for new businesses in Ealing with 14.7 per cent of new businesses working in it.

Across the UK - where a primary business interest was specified - the most popular sector for post-recession businesses was in professional, scientific and technical activities.

The next most common sector for post recession businesses was administrative services followed by information and communication.
