I’m starting with an urgent request on behalf of Twiglet, a pretty, very friendly, adult ginger cat, who needs to be re-homed as soon as possible.

She came into the care of Hounslow Animal Welfare Society (HAWS) after being handed into a vets by someone who was moving and couldn’t take her with them. She was fostered by HAWS and was recently adopted but, unfortunately, she did not settle into her new home.

HAWS thought she would be fine with someone out at work all day but, not so. A neighbour told the new owner that Twiglet cried most of the time when she was out.

Twiglet has now been moved to another foster home but urgently needs a permanent home, with a garden, where someone is around during the day. Please contact HAWS on 020 8560 5443 if you can offer Twiglet the companionship she desperately needs. More details on www.haws-animals.org.uk

Tomorrow (Saturday) HAWS are amongst the charities who will be having a stall at the Ealing Animal Welfare Bazaar.

Followers of this event will know that for over 30 years, this Bazaar took place at Ealing Town Hall but, three years ago, due to the increased cost of hiring the Town Hall, it moved to Hanwell Methodist Church.

Many people prefer the new venue. There is now more space for people to sit and eat. However, from my point of view, it is harder work as the day starts and finishes with moving 50 trestles around. But, however hard this work is, I am reminded of animals that are used for hard work and who, unlike me, do not have a choice over whether or not they do it. Some of these animals will be represented at the Bazaar.

The Gambia Horse and Donkey Trust and The Brooke Hospital for Animals will, particularly, be raising funds for working animals.

The Ealing Animal Welfare Bazaar takes place tomorrow (Saturday) at Hanwell Methodist Church, Church Road, Hanwell, London W7 1DJ from 10.30am to 4pm. Admission is free. More details at www.animalwelfarebazaar.info

Many people come and settle in for the day. You are welcome. Hope to see you there.
