Benefit fraud investigators handed out 53 formal cautions or administrative penalties to people in Ealing in the latest clampdown on false claims.

Officers from the Department for Work and Pensions have interviewed 70 people in the borough so far this year and launched 17 prosecutions using evidence from hidden cameras and mobile surveillance.

Fraud investigation officer Kevin Payne said: "Figures show that we are having real success stamping out benefit fraud, but while people think they can get away with it, we will keep pursuing them."

Posters and campaign adverts will appear during the next two months.
