I have just read about the residents of The Warren, Heston, being ticketed for having two wheels of their cars parked on the pavement by Hounslow Council (Chronicle, December 4).

A few months ago I phoned Hounslow Council and asked if it was legal to park outside any residence that had an open garden on which to park their cars, but did not have their pavement dropped.

I was told you could if no cars were parked in their garden at the time. If cars were parked there, it was illegal to block them in.

It seems this council says it's not right to park two wheels on the pavement, but you can drive over it as many times as you like with the full weight of the law.

Double standards, or what?
