Two boys suffered "serious" injuries after being stabbed in West Drayton - and now police are appealing for witnesses.

A 15-year-old received a single stab wound to his abdomen and a 16-year-old suffered a knife-inflicted cut to his shoulder.

Officers from Hillingdon Police were called by London Ambulance Service staff to reports of a stabbing in Mulberry Parade at 6pm on Tuesday and when they turned up they found the two casualties being treated by paramedics.

News of the stabbing emerged just a day after a murder investigation was launched following the death of a man his 40s following an alleged assault in Ryefield Avenue, Hillingdon, yesterday.

The youths were taken to central London hospitals for treatment and although serious, the injuries were not life threatening or life changing. Both boys have been discharged.

Following enquires a 21-year-old man was arrested by police in connection with the incident and has been bailed to return to a police station in early October.

Detectives request anyone who witnessed the attack to contact police.

In particular they are keen to trace a red Smart car that was seen in the area immediately prior to the incident.
