A distraught Hounslow mum has delivered a stark warning to teenage tear-aways after her son ended up in intensive care while seemingly trying to steal lead off a warehosue roof.
Jackie Knight, 48, of Cromwell Road, has released pictures of her 17-year-old son in his hospital bed in the hope that it will discourage other young people from engaging in the dangerous and illegal activity.
Adam suffered a fractured skull, a broken eardrum, a fractured wristand a fractured pelvis after falling 45ft through a window on the roofof the old SITA telecommunications building, in Clock Tower Road, on July 21.
Mum-of-five Jackie told the Chronicle: "I thought he was going to die, he is so lucky to be alive."
"I want this picture to be a wake-up call to other young people who are doing the same things as Adam, I want them to see what can happen," she said.
After the accident, Adam was taken by a friend's parent to West Middlesex Hospital, where paramedics immediately administered pain relief and placed him in the intensive care unit.
He has since regained consciousness but had no feeling in one side of his face, due to nerve damage, and was transferred to Charing Cross Hospital in Hammersmith for an operation on Wednesday.
A spokesman for Hounslow Police said it was aware of the incident but no arrests had been made or charges brought against any of the groupbecause of lack of evidence.
