DETAILED plans to re-develop the former Dairy Crest site in White City will be unveiled later this month.

Developers Helical Bar and Aviva Investors are teaming up to regenerate the 10-acre Wood Lane site with 1,250 new homes, shops and a public garden.

The pair say they want to build homes of all sizes, including affordable housing, and provide space for new businesses to set up.

They are also considering a ‘not-for-profit building’ which would provide space for cultural or recreational use, such as an art gallery or sports facility.

But they will reveal their initial proposals at three drop-in sessions between March 23 and March 26.

Helical Bar director Matthew Bonning-Snook said: “Our proposals represent an exciting opportunity to transform this site and bring new homes, jobs and facilities to the area.

“Feedback from the community is extremely valuable during this stage of our plans and we would urge as many people as possible to attend our drop-in events.”

The companies met residents at a forum last November and have drawn up their plans with that feedback and have also sent a freepost questionnaire to White City residents.

The site is part of the White City opportunity area, earmarked for regeneration by Hammersmith and Fulham Council and the Mayor of London.

A large-scale extension of Westfield shopping centre was approved last month and is set to also include thousands of new homes while nearby Old Oak Common has been chosen as the site of a high speed rail hub.

The drop-in events will take place at Wood Lane Community Centre, in Wood Lane, between 3pm and 8pm on March 23 and between 10am and 2pm at Phoenix High School Post 16 Centre, in The Curve, on March 24.

The final session will be held at Harrow Club, in Preston Road, between 4pm and 8pm on March 26.
