A mother and daughter are 'over the moon' after they were reunited with their beloved pet chihuahua Poppy who went missing three days ago in Hanworth.

Daughter Lauren Warnock, 23, of Sandy Drive in Bedfont, was delighted to receive a call yesterday (Thursday) afternoon from a local vet to say they had found the 10-month-old black and white dog.

She thanked getwestlondon for the online article 'Help family find missing chihuahua last seen in Hanworth ' and the community for their help in tracking down the dog on what was a wet, cold and miserable day.

Miss Warnock said: "A vet rung me to say they had found her. She is home safe and well and we are all so over the moon. Thank you."

Poppy who has not been microchipped had broken away from her dog collar and ran away during a walk in the park with a friend of the family on Tuesday (April 29) near Wigley Road in Hanworth.

During the three days the timid dog had been spotted by several people in the area but as she was frightened kept running away.

She was eventually found and taken to a local veterinary surgery much to the relief of the family.
