A Hounslow man has appeared in court in connection with the death of a supermarket worker who was set alight outside his home.

Charlie Davies, 23, was doused in petrol and set alight outside his home in Templedene Avenue, Staines at 11.20pm on June 14.

He died two weeks later at a specialist burns unit at the Queen Victoria Hospital in East Grinstead.

Nadim Kurrimbukus, 24, was originally charged with the attempted murder of the former Lampton School pupil, who worked at Tesco Osterley.

But Kingston Crown Court heard that his legal team would be served with papers alleging murder following Mr Davies' death.

During a three minute hearing on Friday, July 18, Mr Kurrimbukus spoke only once to confirm his name.

Prosecutor Michael Spong said the murder indictment would be put before the court by the end of next month.

Mr Kurrimbukus, of Heath Road, Hounslow, is then expected back at Kingston Crown Court in September to offer a plea.
