THANK you and congratulations to the Ickenham Festival committee, chaired by David Edington, who thoughtfully arranged nine days of events for all ages and interests.
Many residents and local organisations, including the schools and churches, all contributed to making the Ickenham Festival such a success.
It was pleasing to see so many families enjoying the Gala Day, with its innovative ideas such as the scarecrow competition, hot air balloon rides and children's entertainers.
I particularly enjoyed the open gardens initiative, and the enthusiasm with expertise of the Glebe and Breakspear School choirs at St Giles' Church as well as the Vyners Swing and Perry Parsons Big Bands.
No doubt plans are already in place to raise funds for the next Ickenham Festival in 2010.
Melville Close, Ickenham.
