WORLD famous celebrity David Beckham is meeting pupils at Vaughan Primary School in West Harrow after it won a supermarket sports competition.

The footballer, model and dad-of-four appeared with youngsters at the school in The Gardens on a live 10.35am link-up with the presenters of ITV show This Morning.

Mr Beckham was at the school because it won Sainsbury's 1 Million Kids Challenge that encourages that number of schoolchildren to have a go at a Paralympic sport.

A spokesman for the supermarket chain said the school had seen the largest number of pupils take part in either goalball, blind football or sitting volleyball and had thereby done more to raise awareness of the London Paralympic Games than any other participating school.
