A cyclist in his 60s has been left with serious injuries after being hit by a lorry yesterday afternoon (April 29).

The man collided with the truck at around 2:15pm in Ladbroke Grove just after the Barlby Road junction.

The road was closed for over five hours after police confirmed a lot of debris had to be cleared and the 295 bus from Clapham Junction had to be diverted.

A London Ambulance Service spokeswoman said: "We were called at 2:18pm to reports of a cyclist involved in a collision. An ambulance and a first responder were sent to the scene where we treated a man in his 60s for leg injuries. He was taken to St Mary's hospital."

A police spokesman added: "Police attended the scene of a collision between a cyclist and a lorry in Ladbroke Grove at 2:30pm. No arrests were made. The cyclist was left with serious injuries that were not thought to be life threatening. The cordon was lifted and road reopened at 7:27pm. There was a lot of debris down there."
