A male cyclist was airlifted to hospital in a critical condition after an incident on the border of Northwood Hills and Pinner yesterday (Wednesday, November 26).

The man, believed to be aged in his 50's-60's sustained head injuries which are currently deemed as life-changing.

London's Air Ambulance, London Ambulance Service and Police crews were called to reports of an injured cyclist in Potter Street at the junction with Hillside Road, Northwood Hills, at around 2.40pm.

It is not yet known how the cyclist came to be injured.

Paramedics treated the man at the scene before he was airlifted to hospital.

Police closed Potter Street and Hillside Road for a number of hours and the H13 bus route which uses the road was diverted and delayed.

The roads re-opened at just before 6pm.

Police officers are investigating the circumstances.
