A teenager was repeatedly threatened with a knife after a panicked robber spotted her friend calling the police.

The mugger, who is described as a black boy, 5ft 11ins, aged around 16, wearing a dark, hooded waterproof jacket, became agitated during the attempted robbery and put his four inch blade against the 17-year-old's throat before running away.

The girl and her friend were approached by the suspect in Lampton Road, Hounslow, about ten yards from Neville Close, at around 9pm on July 9.

Det Insp Jeff minns, of Hounslow CID, said: "Obviously police will respond to these kinds of incidents as an emergency. The victim was very brave to call us but self-preservation should always be people's priority."



An 85-year-old Isleworth woman has fallen victim to a distraction burglar who convinced her to sit watching her kitchen taps as he ransacked drawers and cupboards upstairs.

The heartless thief gained access to her home by posing as a water board employee who needed to check her pipes.

The man, described as white, 5ft 9ins, aged 32, with short, dark brown hair and a slim build, made off with jewellery and £625 cash following the burglary in Bridge Road, at 5.45pm, on July 10.



A young girl conned her way into the home of a wheelchair-bound pensioner by asking for help writing a note.

The girl, who is white, aged around 12, 5ft tall, with brown hair, stole money and jewellery, including two necklaces, a bracelet, a ring and an earring, from her 80-year-old victim.

The burglary took place in Ivy Lane, Hounslow, at noon, on July 12 and is the most recent of a number of incidents involving a similar-looking girl and the distraction of a note.
