A WOMAN whose husband recalls nothing of the lorrry crash which has ended his driving career has appealed for a witness to come forward.

Wayne Pinto was badly injured when the lorry he was driving crashed at a roundabout in Stanwell Moor Lane on July 30.

He suffered arm injuries ans needed metal plates inserted into his face. A passerby - believed to have been a nurse, accompanied by her husband - administered first aid until an air ambulance arrived and took Mr Pinto to Whitechapel Hospital.

The family lives in Ruislip Manor. Now his wife, Theresa, who prefers not to give her address, wants to thank the 'angel of mercy'.

"It would be nice just to buy her a bunch of flowers," she said.

Mrs Pinto says her husband still receives physiotherapy up to three times a week and has no memory of the crash at all.

She said police have cleared him of any blame but that he has been told by doctors he will never work as a lorry driver again because of his arm injuries.

The accident happened between 10.30am and 11.30am. If you witnessed it, or if you were the nurse who helped Wayne Pinto, please call the newsdesk on 01895 451000.
