A crack den where noisy drug users kept neighbours up throughout the night has been closed by police.

The tenant at 47 Midsummer Avenue, Hounslow, was evicted last Thursday (January 30) after Hounslow Police secured a three-month closure order at Feltham Magistrates' Court.

Police had worked closely with the council's housing arm Hounslow Homes and the council's community safety officer to secure the order following complaints from neighbours.

Inspector Richard Smith, of Hounslow Police, said: "The male tenant was letting his drug-using friends come round at all hours to deal at the premises and use it to take class A drugs.

"The address had become a hot-spot of antisocial behaviour, with neighbours being disturbed by noise from undesirable visitors at all hours."

The closure order follows a series of searches carried out at the property, during one of which last month 36 wraps of cocaine were found. Police said no arrests had been made in connection with the discovery.

Hounslow Homes is now expected to restore the property so it can be let out to a new tenant.
