On his web blog, Councillor Mike Cox asks why 'no-one spotted he (ex-councillor Ian Oakley) was on medication?'

This is a ridiculous statement, as it would not have been that Mr Oakley necessarily took his pills in public, and most people are inclined to leave people's privacy alone.

It was hardly something 'overlooked' if Mr Oakley kept his medication control to himself.

Councillor Cox should look at his own shortcomings when he questions why it was so easy for things to have been missed in the Oakley case.

We are told that, despite Councillor Cox and Councillor Jill Rhodes steadfastly stating that they would not take the rise in councillors' allowances, they 'accidentally' did so for a number of months.
