Hayes Carnival takes place  on Saturday 13 July with the theme 'I heart Hayes’ – celebrating the past, present and future of the area.

The parade, which begins at Pump Lane at 12.30pm, promises to be spectacular with a number of traditional carnival costumes, stilt-walkers, and a samba band, showcasing the vibrant sound, sights and colours of carnival. Bubble artists will also perform alongside Hayes community groups.

The procession will make its way up to Barra Hall Circus to the main event in Barra Hall Park. Revellers can soak up the atmosphere and sample a wide range of activities which will run from 1.30pm to 5.30pm.

There will be an abundance of food from around the world for sampling, while the main music stage will be spinning out classic hits pressed at the old EMI factory alongside sets from the area’s up and coming musical talents.

Younger residents will have a host of activities to choose from, including a funfair and dance arena. The green zone offers everything from a bee hotel to a bike circus, while sports activities on offer will include a crazy golf course and an army style assault course. There will also be a wide a range of workshops and the ever popular community stalls.

The council has continued to invest in Hayes Carnival and Cllr Douglas Mills, Cabinet Member for Community, Commerce and Regeneration, comments: “Hayes Carnival is a key event in the London Borough of Hillingdon calendar. Festivities have always shown the best of Hayes, and I’m sure this year will be no different. I hope as many residents as possible will come along to Barra Hall Park to enjoy the atmosphere and culture that Hayes has to offer.”
