A Primark could be coming to the Pavilions shopping centre in Uxbridge if rumours surrounding a planning application are true.

In June, LaSalle Investment Management, who own the shopping centre,  submitted an application in to Hillingdon Council requesting permission to consolidate 15 existing units to create a single retail unit.

People living in flats above the shopping centre received letters informing them of the application last week, but little information was given about which store it might be.

"I had a letter about planning permission saying they are going to combine several of the existing stores in the north end to accommodate a new national retail chain," said Nick Thompson, who lives in Armstrong House above the Pavilions. It doesn't say who though."

Several of the units at the north end of the precinct are empty.

People called for a Primark to replace Baroosh, in High Street, when it closed in January. It is now a Five Guys burger bar.

A consultation started on July 10 and a decision is due by October 10.

The Pavilions is yet to confirm who the application came from.
