A GENEROUS Isleworth family put some spice into their charity fundraising by inviting 120 people into their home - for a curry.

Vijay Sharma and her husband Harminder, of Church Road, cooked an Indian feast and netted £2,000 for a Paxman skull cooling unit, which is used to prevent hair loss in patients undergoing chemotherapy treatment at West Middlesex University Hospital.

Vijay, who also raised £2,000 last year for sufferers of progressive supranuclear palsy - a neurological disorder - said: "I believe this is a very worthy cause as, unfortunately, we all either have had first-hand experience of cancer or know of someone.

"I lost my sister-in-law and uncle to this terrible disease."

The couple provided all the food and drink at the event on Sunday.

Half of the money will be spent on the machine, with £1,000 being used by the cancer ward at West Mid.
