THE PRIEST jailed for a campaign of abuse against catholic schoolboys spanning more than 30 years has been charged with another crime.

Father David Pearce, formerly of Ealing Abbey in Charlbury Grove, was jailed in October last year for attacks against boys at St Benedict's School in Eaton Rise, between 1972 and 2007.

Currently serving a five year-sentence, the 69-year-old was charged with a sexual assault against a boy aged under 16 in the late 1970s, on Monday (22).

Maths teacher John Maestri, 71, of Chatham, Kent, was also charged with sexual assault of a boy aged under 16 on the the same day.

Maestri has been bailed and both men will appear at West London Magistrates' Court on Friday December 3.

The charges relate to the same victim but different incidents.
