Harrow town centre has been receiving the attentions of the small screen; two top BBC television shows were filming in various locations recently.
St Ann's Road, including the fruit and veg stall and Royal Oak pub, has been masquerading in recent weeks as late 90s Reading on BBC Two comedy series Beautiful People, based on the bestselling wild childhood memoirs of Simon Doonan, creative director of Barneys, New York.
Meanwhile, St George's Shopping Centre hosted the town's other televisual outing last week, as BBC Two show The Restaurant challenged Essex couple Michele and Russell, who have been running their own eaterie The Cheerful Soul in Northwood, to put on a cookery demonstration.
The couple, who are competing to win the right to open a restaurant, with celebrity chef Raymond Blanc, attracted a lot of attention, particularly from Harrow youths, during a Saturday afternoon visit, but only secured one booking.
