I WOULD like to take the time to give praise to local libaries in Hillingdon.

My experience has been one of great enjoyment and amazingly little frustration. I have found the staff

helpful and generally very patient at the two local libaries that I visit.

I have also found the late night opening facility at Ruislip Manor and the telephone renewal service a useful stand by when life just gets in the way of getting to the libary in the day or at the weekend.

Given the importance of reading, especially for the young, libaries provide a vital local service.

So I think that a shoutout should be given for all those who work at the local libaries, and I urge the council not to forget libaries in the inevitable squeeze for funds.
